“If you want something you’ve never had
You must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” — Thomas Jefferson
This quote also applies to business growth.
In the video below, Scott Keffer explains the business breakthrough you need to reach in order to 2x your business and beyond.
The REAL Breakthrough to Growing Your Business
(Below is the transcript from the video.)
I’m not sure how much you wrote down for your income up there, but here’s what I’ve found, that if you wrote down a number that’s between zero and, let’s say, 10%, you can do the same thing that you’re doing now. Just keep doing the same thing, but you have to do it a little better. If you want to get up to here, to, let’s say, 20%, you can do the same thing but you have to do it a lot better. But either way, you’re stuck in what I call the same ceiling. In other words, if you keep doing the same thing that you’re doing, at best you can increase your income maybe 10%, probably at most 20%.
Now, how many in here wrote a number down, more than 10 or 20%? How many in here wrote a number down, more like 2x or more? So the same will not get you 2x or more. That’s what I realized. I kept trying to do the same thing, just better, but in order to get 2x or more, you have to have a breakthrough here, and a breakthrough requires that I transform what I’m doing. I can’t get there by doing better. Does that make sense?
That’s hard because we tend to love to do the things that we always did. There’s an inherent desire. Somebody once said, “I don’t mind change, as long as I don’t have to change.” Right, but fundamentally, if you want to do 2x or more in terms of your income, you’ve got to transform what you’re doing. In fact, Albert Einstein said, if you keep doing the same thing, even if you do the same thing better, and expect different results … Yeah, this is not going to happen.
