Systems, checklists and…, I thought, as I lay on the table waiting for the drugs to kick in.
Atul Gawande, is a surgeon, New Yorker staff writer, and professor at Harvard Medical School (HMS) and the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH).
Gawande, author of many books, including, The Checklist Manifesto, gave a now well-known TED talk about how professionals could benefit from checklists and coaching based on his experience when he brought a coach into the operating room.
You want your doctors and hospitals to be serious enough about their work to have checklists and coaches.
You want your pilots and airlines to be serious enough about their work to have systems, checklists and coaches.
I’m guessing your prospects want the same when it comes to their financial, investment and retirement planning.
How serious are you about systems, checklists and coaches?
By the way, my wife, Beth, goes in for surgery on Friday. Hysterectomy.
Appreciate your prayers for her. And me, as I nurse her in recovery.
Come to think about it, you should just pray for her if she has me as her nurse. 🙂
By the way, I’m up walking and back in to see the surgeon tomorrow for rehab instructions!
Thanks for ALL who sent thoughts, gifts and prayers!
