One question I’m getting from our Private Advisor Clients (and many others) is, “Should I be marketing and reaching out to prospects now?”
The short answer. No.
It’s the Three Humped Camel Effect.
Picture a three humped camel.
FACTS. FEELINGS. FUNCTION.
Right now, we are in the first of three bell curves.
Call the first hump: FACTS.
Outbreaks follow a bell curve – a time of increasing cases, a leveling off, then a decline.
The second hump is FEELINGS. Even after the factual proof that the virus has waned, the feelings and emotions need time to catch up. Time to feel safe again.
The third hump is FUNCTION. Not until the feelings wane, will people begin to function again. And, most people will be slow to return to normal function, waiting for broad “social proof” and being more comfortable once the majority are returning to “normal” too.
During Hump #1, where we are now and will be for some weeks, don’t worry about marketing.

First and foremost, to your Top 20% with high-touch connections.
Then to the balance of clients and prospects with one-to-many value offering, like a weekly Zoom update.
Don’t stop making your monthly marketing investment. Put it into a Marketing War Chest – to be deployed when we hit Hump #3.
